SCORING SUMMARYLEGENDS PARKLANDHSI VIII was the first time that we started the partner scoring, so we were a little unsure of how the new method would impact our game. Partners were determined by the finish last year, so Nick and JJ would be taking on Sheebz and Powell. All of the players started a little slowly with all scores in the 90's. But it was JJ and Nick that took most of the skins on the first round. The pivotal hole was #14, which was worth a total of six skins, where JJ scored par to win all the points. The first round ended with the score JJ - 36, Nick - 33, Powell - 8, Sheebz - 7. LEGENDS MOORLAND 1 The afternoon round was at Moorland, which had been rated as one of the more difficult courses in the Myrtle Beach area. For this round it was JJ and Sheebz vs. Nick and Powell. Even though JJ had a week low round of 64, Nick and Powell came out the big winners. The score ended Nick - 55, JJ - 51, Powell - 32, Sheebz - 33. TPC MYRTLE BEACH We left the resort today and travelled 20 minutes to TPC. The pairings were Nick and Sheebz vs. Powell and JJ. Of course, as things went the first two rounds, Nick's partner played well. Sheebz scored his only round in the 80's with an 86 while the average for the other three players was 103. This helped give Nick a pretty good lead going into the individual rounds. Nick - 82, JJ - 68, Sheebz - 51, Powell - 46. LEGENDS MOORLAND 2 This was the first round with individual scoring and we were again playing the Moorland course. JJ needed to make a run to close the gap with Nick to get even going into the final round. Unfortunately, he couldn't make that happen, as he ended with only two points for the round. It was Sheebz that scored the most points in the round with 19. This meant that Sheebz was tied with JJ after this round, but they were both very far behind Nick. With one round to go, the score was Nick - 94, JJ and Sheebz - 70, Powell - 60. HEATHLAND JJ and Sheebz were chasing Nick and were being chased by Powell. JJ won the first two holes and then Sheebz won the next three. It was then that JJ turned it on. He proceeded to win the next ten holes to pull within a single point of JJ. Going into the final two holes of HSI VIII, after 88 holes played, a single point separated the top two contenders. Each of the last two holes were worth three points. Powell and Sheebz carried over that hole so it all came down to the final hole. If JJ won the hole, he would win HSI VIII. If the hole was won by anybody else, Nick would win. Nick and Powell pushed the hole, which meant the points went to Powell. Nick escaped with a one point win. On the last round, JJ was trying to catch Nick from 24 points behind. He scored exactly 24 points on this round. Nick scored a single point, a rabbit on the 14th hole, which was just enough to put him over the top. This was by far the closest HSI VIII we've ever been in as it came down to the very last shots on the very last hole. A very exciting HSI. Final Score: Nick - 95, JJ - 94, Sheebz - 82, Powell - 69.
