Player: | JJ | |
| Traveled from: | Houston, TX | ||
| Details: |
JJ last won an HSI event two years ago at
HSI VII which was held in Frankston, TX. Last year he finished
second place in the closest HSI ever - one point behind Nick. A
definite favorite to challenge Nick at HSI this year.
Prediction: 2nd place. Can dethrone Nick with a good start out of the blocks at HSI IX. |

| Memorable HSI IX Moments: | Getting picked up from the airport and Nick having a 12 pack of cold Coors Light. Walking downtown Denver and all the "laugh so hard I cried" stories - especially Nickerson's Indian storey "whoo whoo" and Sheebz "computer" story with the big ol' keyboard air typing. Playing at fossil trace on the first day. Being up in the mountains. Playing ping pong and pool all night. | ||

Player: | SHEEBZ | |
| Traveled from: | Kansas City, MO | ||
| Details: |
Sheebz last won HSI three years ago in the
Ozarks. He's finished third the last two years. He's not
been playing a lot of golf recently and his game is not very consistent.
However, consistency is not as important in the skins format and he
still shoots enough good hole scores to pick up some points.
Prediction: 3rd place. Solid game, but not enough good scores to surpass JJ and Nick. |

| Memorable HSI IX Moments: | Winning the trophy. Telling stories at the champions dinner - Drunken Indian swimming across the river to work on the computer. Ice on the course in the morning of our final day. The great rental house. The rainy weather that then cleared for perfect weather the final round. Ruling the ping pong table. Amazing views at the courses. | ||

Player: | NICK | |
| Traveled from: | Maryville, MO | ||
| Details: |
Nick is the defending champion and is
entering HSI IX as the person to beat. Nick has probably played
more golf over the past few months because of his teaching schedule and
should be entering HSI IX with a lot of confidence. Needs to start
strong and finish strong. Middle rounds are usually pretty good. Prediction: 1st place. Defending champ and has been playing a lot recently. |

| Memorable HSI IX Moments: | How f'n cold and rainy it was the first day. Shaking uncontrollably on some tee boxes. The house we rented; nice place until the ceiling of JJ's room started leaking water all over. Ping Pong and Pool. Mountains - I love the mountains! Laughing uncontrollably at the Champions Dinner in Denver. That was one of my favorite times of the trip, the four of us just setting around bs'ing. Weather in Denver was great too. Being on the cusp of a fantastic round at Fossil Trace only to take a 9 on the 9th hole. That's the best I've played in a long time. Additionally, I remember doing a lot of ball-searching for Sheebz on this course. The elevation changes on some of the tee shots and how the ball carried in the thin air. | ||

Player: | POWELL | |
| Traveled from: | Kansas City, MO | ||
| Details: |
Powell is still looking for his first HSI
victory. This will be his third HSI event. He'll be sporting
the pink belt due to the last place finish in HSI VIII. He's
finished fourth in both previous HSI that he's been a part of.
Needs to have a good showing this year.
Prediction: Hello Pink Belt in 2010. 4th place. Needs to finish better than last before we can predict a higher finish. |

| Memorable HSI IX Moments: |
J.J. realizing that I had taken him down for the
first time in 3 years and deciding that he should whack me on the ankle with
his putter coming off the 17th green of round 5 at Keystone Ranch. A swing
and a miss as my driver left my hands before contacting the ball in
the middle of a lightning storm that we decided we could play through - even
more memorable, Sheebz seemed to play some of the best golf of his life
during the same weather. The South Dakota Indians swimming across
the Lake at the
Champions dinner that gave me
stomach cramps from laughing so hard.

| Favorite Course: | Keystone River- elevated tees are magical - even more magical because I hit the fairway every time we hit from them | ||
